HRCSL Vice Chair recognized for monitoring Ghana’s election
The Vice Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL), Victor I. Lansana was among dozens of observers that monitored the just concluded presidential and parliamentary election in Ghana.
The participation of the commission in the election on Monday December 7, 2020 was made possible through the Network of National Human Rights Institutions of West Africa (NNHRIs- WA).
The Vice Chairperson described the elections as generally peaceful and transparent and strongly believes that a lot could be learned from the conduct of the elections in that country.
At the end of the monitoring exercise, Commissioner Lansana was presented with a unique souvenir by the President of the Network who also doubles as the Chairperson of the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Joseph Whittal Esq. for his outstanding role in the monitoring exercise.
In receiving the award, Commissioner Lansana had this to say: “I appreciate this so much. This means satisfaction and recognition for hard work. It also means a lot for the commission because it would help put us on the regional map.”
