Lands Minister to protect MMCET land
Sierra Leone’s Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning has assured the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology (MMCET) administration of appropriate professional support in the strides to protect and regularize land belonging to the institution.
Dr. Turad Senesie was addressing the college's principal, Dr. Philip Kanu, who was accompanied by a team of administrators to pay a courtesy call on the minister.
At the meeting held in the conference room of the ministry, Dr. Kanu made a passionate plea for the ministry to support the college to protect its land in various parts of the country from encroachers and to regularise the land documentations.
Principal Kanu specifically asked the ministry to continue to support the college to complete the recovery of land at their Goderich campus.
“The college intends to fence the entire land stretch but that will only happen after the ministry would have placed beacons demarcating the boundary,” he said.
He urged the ministry to kindly re-survey land at their campuses in Brookfields and Congo Cross, as well as the college land situated at Mamamah and Kono.
In response, Minister Turad Senesie advised the principal to do the requests formally, while assuring him of prompt and decisive actions.
“The Ministry will give you all the appropriate support needed to protect and regularize the college's land,” he ended.
