New Internal Affairs Minister subscribes to oath of office
The newly appointed Minister of Internal Affairs on Friday May 15, 2020 subscribed to oath of office at State House after his approval by parliament.
David Maurice Panda-Noah replaced Hon. Edward M. Suluku, who was relieved of his duties recently.
He is coming in with wealth of experience, having served as the Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority (SLRSA), where he pioneered a lot of reforms and instil disciplined.
A lot will be expected of him as result of the recentwide spread violence and insecurity in the country.
In his short statement, Mr Panda-Noah thanked President Julius Maada Bio for the confidence reposed in him, adding that he was humbled to serve in his new capacity.
“I’m aware of the challenges and I am fully committed to surmounting them,” he assured.
Earlier, President Bio congratulated him on his appointment and stated that it is the responsibility of government to keep the peace and make sure law and order prevails.
“You have a lot of work on your hands. I would like to assure you of my fullest support and to provide the security needed not only for development but also for everyone to go about their normal businesses peacefully,” he said
