Members of Staff of Sierra Leone’s leading GSM operator, Orange SL have celebrated the latest international recognition of their hardworking Chief Executive Officer, Aminata Kane Ndiaye (Mrs.).

Madam Ndiaye was on Thursday November 12, 2020 announced as the winner of the Africa’s Best Chief Executive Officer of the year 2020.

The CEO Today Africa Awards are dedicated to recognizing strong and innovative leadership amongst business leaders operating in Africa.

They bring together companies pushing the envelope in business and the executives and leaders that make the progress possible.

Staff members were in joyous mood as they sang songs of praises on the CEO for being recognized as the best in the telecom industry in Africa. They presented gifts as a sign of appreciation for such a remarkable achievement.

Hilary H. Williams from the Finance Department of Orange SL, said the Award does not come as a surprise to them because madam Ndiaye never settles for anything less. He therefore urged staff members to emulate the very fine hardworking attributes of the CEO.

“I stand here today on behalf of the finance department to congratulate our CEO; Aminata Kane Ndiaye for such recognition. This did not come as a surprise to us because we know the caliber of person you are and what you are doing is being felt across the country,” he said.

In her response, CEO Aminata Kane Ndiaye noted that the award could not have been possible without the commitment of staff, and therefore encouraged them to continue to make the difference in the telecommunication industry in Sierra Leone.

“Let me start by thanking you guys because this could not have been possible without you. I know at the beginning it was not easy but it is my belief that this award has shown that by investing in you, this is what we can get,” she stated.

She said winning this year’s AfricaTech Award is a demonstration of stewardship in service delivery and disclosed that people from all over the world including countries such as Sierra Leone, Senegal, Morocco, and the United States of America (USA) voted for her.

She encouraged staff to remain committed to work which will not only score point for company but also putting the name of Sierra Leone on the map. She underscored the importance of teamwork which enhances progress, and applauded the company’s drivers, cleaners and securities, among others for doing their very best in putting Orange SL on the spotlight.

Aminata was appointed Orange CEO in 2018 with the objectives to make the operation profitable and with good growth that is inclusive. She has so far not only managed but has exceeded the given objectives.
