WARDC commissions casual staff and tricycles for Street Cleaning
The Western Area Rural District Council (WARDC) has on Monday 7th December, 2020, commissioned fifty (50) casual staff and 5 Tricycles for sweeping and cleaning of public and major streets in the Western Area Rural District.
In his statement, Chief Administrator of WARDC, Mr. Raman Tom Farmar said that the dream of the council is to see that the district is clean, safe and healthy.
Mr. Farmar referred to the casual waste management staff as the face of the council and they should showcase the commitment of the council in the discharge of their duties and make sure they clean regularly.
Environment and Social Officer (ESO), Marian J. Tucker stated that the day is an epoch making day and thanked the leadership of WARDC for their commitment to environmental & waste management issues in the Western Area Rural District.
In commissioning the casual waste management staff, WARDC Chairman, Kasho J. Holland Cole thanked the Chief Administrator and other senior staff for implementing the policies of the council.
He noted that his dream as chairman of the council is to see that the district is clean, safe and healthy for the people.
"Thank for volunteering to serve the district as waste management officers. It is not an easy task but with commitment we can make the district clean and safe for all and sundry," he aversed.
The program was chaired by the Development Planning Officer, Mr. Maurice Ellie George who admonished workers to be patriotic and put the district first.
The waste management casual workers will be shared into the four zones of the district. (Waterloo Zone, Mountain Zone, Koya Zone and Goderich Zone).
